Generation Game

My thoughts for the day:

That children today can only blame their own insufficiencies on the inability of their parents to teach them otherwise is almost without question. Whether that fact inherently invalidates any claim that children should be held accountable for their deficiencies is quite another question altogether.

Children today are not what they could be because of the generation before them (also, by the same token, not quite as bad as they could have been). They learn by example, you see. But what does it boot to blame the generation before when it is clearly the current generation in need of guidance? Without urging the youth of today onto a more suitable path, the generation that succeeds them will suffer the same fate as their predecessors - to be blamed for the failings of their parents.

What we need is not to bicker about which generation is to blame for whatever problem, but instead to acknowledge that there are problems that need to be addressed, swallow our pride and banish our over-inflated senses of self-importance and begin working together for a solution.

if only it were as easy to do as it is to write. maybe if we get a lot of people to think really hard we can blow up the world with our combined mental conscentration and then there won't be any problems whatsoever.....well that's my plan, but i'm open to suggestions.
